Height Growth Calculator
Predict your child's future adult height based on genetics.
How Height Prediction Works
Genetics play the largest role in determining how tall a child will be. Our calculator uses the Mid-Parental Height Method, which is a widely accepted formula used by pediatricians to estimate a child's genetic height potential.
The Formula
- For Boys: (Mother's Height + Father's Height + 13 cm) / 2
- For Girls: (Mother's Height + Father's Height - 13 cm) / 2
This method provides a target height range. Most children will reach a final adult height within about 2 inches (5 cm) of this target.
Factors Influencing Growth
While genetics set the potential, other factors ensure that potential is reached:
- Nutrition: A balanced diet rich in protein, calcium, and vitamins is crucial during growth spurts.
- Sleep: Growth hormone is primarily released during deep sleep.
- Exercise: Regular physical activity supports bone health and muscle growth.
